As some of you may know it only takes me a day or so to finish one book when I get really lost in the book.  I don’t know what comes over me, I just can’t put a book down once I start reading it.  My family has to put up with me walking around with my nose in a book.  Multi-taksing at it’s best.

Without further ado here are the books I read this past week.

DARK DREAMERS

Christine Feehan & Majorie M. Liu

  • DARK DREAM by Christine Feehan

She s known him since she was fifteen. Every night, he is with her: his face, his voice. Tonight, Sara Marten will meet the man who is both angel and demon, salvation and temptation: Falcon the Carpathian, the banished hero. Tonight, Sara will meet the dark-eyed destroyer destined to be her mate.

  • A DREAM OF STONE & SHADOW by Marjorie M. Liu

There are those who do terrible things in this world, and those who simply watch. Charlie would do neither. Imprisoned, his only release is through his own destruction or through Aggie Durand. Sweet as a kiss or a rescued child, she is the one dream he does not dare desire. As an agent of Dirk & Steele, she could be his salvation. Today, Charlie s dream is waking.

I am looking forward to reading more of the Dirk & Steele series by Marjorie M. Liu.  I am already a fan of her HUNTER KISS series. – shepie

THE SHORT SECOND LIFE OF BREE TANNER: AN ECLIPSE NOVELLA

Stephenie Meyer

I watched his body change. He crouched on the roof, one hand gripping the edge.  All that strange friendliness disappeared, and he ws a hunter.  That was something I recognized, something I was comfortable with because I understood it.

I turned off my brain.  It was time to hunt.  I took a deep breath, drawing in the scent of the blood inside the humans below.  They weren’t the only humans around, but they were the closest.  Who you were ging to hunt was the kind of decision you had to make before you scented your prey.

It was too late now to choose anything.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this.  I am a fan of the twilight series, so I gave it a shot.  It was really good.  It gives an insight on how the other half lived or unlived?? – shepie

BRIDE OF THE WOLF

Susan Krinard

Rachel Lyndon yearns to escape her scandalous past, but her dreams for a better life seem ruined after she buries her fiancé on the Texas plains.

Heath Renier has been evading the law by the skin of his teeth for years. Now he’s found a new identity as Holden Renshaw, foreman of Dog Creek Ranch. But the arrival of his boss’s mail-order bride, now a widow, upsets his fragile peace and threatens to expose his deadly secrets.

Rachel knows that the mysterious and savagely handsome Holden is the last man she should trust—especially once she’s seen glimpses of his true nature. When he’s suspected of killing his employer, she has a terrible choice to make. But the heat of his gaze ignites something seductive and irresistible within her. No matter how dangerous the road ahead, she’s determined to give him the one thing he’s never truly believed he deserves: her undying love.

I am not normally a big fan of westerns.  However this was written well enough that it only took me a day to read.  Secrets and sabotage always makes for a good read. – shepie

DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

Sherrilyn Kenyon

Half animal, half man, wholly dangerous. Locked in eternal battle, a Were-Hunter knows everything about peril and pain. But the greatest threat is yet to come…

Susan Michaels was the hottest reporter on the Beltway Beat until she walked into a setup that ruined her reputation. Now she’s working for a small Seattle paper, penning stories about killer moths and alien babies, convinced that her life couldn’t get any worse…

That was before an idea for a breaking news piece brought her to a local animal shelter where she ends up listening to her source rant about vampires and gets coerced into adopting a cat despite her allergies. But when her new pet suddenly reveals himself to be a gorgeous—and lethal—shapeshifter, Susan realizes that there’s far more at stake than a career-saving by-line.

Born into a world of predators, Were-Hunter Ravyn Kontis was betrayed by those he loved best. Soulless, pitiless, he has spent three hundred years battling the Daimons who seek to subjugate humankind. Against all odds, Susan evokes in Ravyn feelings of tenderness. Desire. Love. And with the ultimate battle about to begin, this one very human woman holds the power to shatter both their worlds…

NO MERCY

Sherrilyn Kenyon

Live fast, fight hard, and if you have to die, then take as many of your enemies with you as you can.  That is the Amazon credo and it was one Samia lived and died by.  Now in contemporary New Orleans, the immortal Amazon warrior is about to learn that there’s a worse evil coming to slaugher mankind than she’s ever faced before.

Shapeshifter Dev Peltier has stood guard at the front of Sanctuary for almost two hundred years, and in that time he’s seen it all.  Or so he thought.  Now their enemies have discovered a new source of power-one that makes a mockery of anything faced to date.

The war is on and Dev and Sam are guarding ground zero.  But in order to win, they will have to break the most cardinal of all rules, and pray it doesn’t unravel the universe as we know it.

Sherrilyn Kenyon’s DARK HUNTER series is amazing.  I love how each book interconnects with other characters in previous books.  Sexy with lots of action.  Always hard to put down. – shepie
